Her parents' cultures inspired her love for vintage illustrated children's books, folk art, antique toys, engravings of flowers and animals, and colorful textiles. She spent her childhood drawing, knitting, and tinkering with materials such as cardboard and string. As an only child, she took inspiration from fairy tales to create imaginary worlds for herself filled with majestic woodland creatures and whimsical objects.
