About the author

Dr. Shahid Hussain, a distinguished professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, boasts an illustrious academic journey marked by significant contributions to the field of nanomaterial applications. Completing his Ph.D. at Chongqing University in 2015, Dr. Hussain embarked on a fruitful post-doctoral research fellowship spanning from 2015 to 2017, laying the groundwork for his subsequent endeavors. Joining Jiangsu University as an Associate Professor in July 2017, his exceptional performance led to a swift promotion to Full Professor by July 2020.
Dr. Hussain's research portfolio shines with a focus on metal oxide, sulfides, MXenes, and MOF nanomaterials, underpinning advancements in gas sensors, supercapacitors, and LiS Batteries. With a prolific publication record, comprising over 256 journal articles indexed by SCI, and an impressive H-index of 46 on Google Scholar, his expertise resonates through top-tier journals like Nano Energy, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Journal of Hazardous Materials. Additionally, his editorial roles in 18 SCI-indexed journals across prominent publishers like Elsevier, Springer, and Frontiers underscore his standing as a thought leader in the academic community. Dr. Hussain's adeptness in gas sensor fabrication, honed since 2011, further solidifies his stature as a luminary in the realm of materials science and engineering.
