It details to history of many of the Headmasters, famous "old boys" and the school day and curriculum and the School's various incarnations from its 18th century beginnings. It is a 'must read' for all current and past students of the school; giving the reader a clear insight into the school in which they were educated.

The vast majority of the contents of the book have been obtained through publicly available sources, with some content available only through old copies of "Ruym" magazine and the author's own private collection of Chatham House memorabilia, including photographs and documents. Other content has been made available by word of mouth, personal experience of the writer, books and photos donated to the Old Ruymians' Club. All copyright is acknowledged by creators of original photographs and artwork
