About the author

Christina Newland is an award-winning journalist, film critic, and broadcaster for Criterion, The Atlantic, the i Newspaper, Empire Magazine, BBC, Sky Arts, Vulture, and many more. Her first book, an edited anthology, was entitled 'She Found it at the Movies: Women Writers on Sex, Desire and Cinema'. Her special interest in mid-century American cinema, sex, glamour and femininity has brought her to interview Sofia Coppola on several occasions, including for the 20th anniversary of The Virgin Suicides and her most recent feature film, Priscilla.
