Wind-induced Vibration of Long Span Suspension Bridges in mountainous areas includes the author’s research on such bridges and adopts a combination of on-site measurements, wind tunnel tests, theoretical analyses and numerical calculations to discuss: the characteristics and parameters of the wind environment at bridge sites; the buffeting response of bridges under the effect of winds on bridges in mountainous areas; the vortex response of wide-bodied flat steel box girders; chattering characteristics (i.e. noise characteristics); and the vibration characteristics of the wind-vehicle-bridge system.


About the author










Dr. Yang Yang is the Director of Engineering and Construction, School of Civil Engineering, Chongqing University, China. She is currently the assistant secretary-general of the National Standards Working Group for Monitoring of Engineering Structures, an editorial board member of the "Journal of Intelligent Construction? and the vice president of the Chongqing Construction Industry Association Informatization Branch. In addition to presiding over several Natural Science Fund and National Key Research and Development Program projects she has been granted more than fifteen patents. Dr Yang is the winner of the first prize of China Architectural Society Science and Technology Progress Award.
