About the author










Ash Alexander-Cooper OBE is a former military unit commander, world-championship athlete, and international musician. During a three-decade career, Ash served as a helicopter pilot, airborne, jungle warfare and counter-terrorism specialist, spending seven years deployed in some of the world’s most challenging environments. Wounded multiple times, Ash proudly supports several veterans’ charities. Since retirement, Ash has focussed on leadership and resilience, after recognising how many organisations experience similar challenges to those he faced in combat. Now a sought-after international keynote speaker and strategic advisor, Ash supports those seeking to overcome adversity, to adapt and win in today’s increasingly complex world. Mindful Soldier is his first book. He lives in Hampshire, UK.
Dr Jessica K. Miller is Director of Research at Police Care UK, a Principal Investigator at the University of Cambridge and consultant for The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales, specialising in trauma resilience in Emergency Response. Her devotion to neuropsychology has seen her work represented in government policy making and enquiries, national approved professional practice and international media. She is the author of The Policing Mind and has written widely for newspapers, magazines and scientific journals. She lives in Dorset, UK.
