Suicide is still one of the leading causes of death in late childhood and adolescence worldwide. Mental disorders, previous attempts at suicide, personality characteristics, and genetic loading are some of the key risk factors contributing to suicidal behavior in young people. It is crucial to understand how these factors interact with one another and how they cooperate in developing effective strategies for preventing suicide. Suicide in children and young adults is relatively uncommon, but its incidence significantly rises during the teen years. Risk factors for youth suicide include mental disorders, previous suicide attempts, personality characteristics, genetic loading, and family processes.Individual's mental health can be enhanced through early childhood interventions, psychosocial support, and at-risk programs. Good programming should include the provision of proper support for people who are at the most significant risk.
