Dr Georg Winter developed a systematic model for integrating environmental considerations into all aspects of company operations of his family-owned business starting in the late 1960s. This concept grew to be the world's first Integrated System of Environmental Management. In this book Peter Hundley shows how Dr Winter, driven by a deeper need to preserve the natural environment, embarked on a crusade to convince other business owners and managers, policy makers and governments of the need for environmental management - and was successful. Today virtually every major company and many small and medium-sized enterprises have adopted his concepts. Winter played a major role in the foundation of the International Network of Environmental Management.

Der in Hamburg geborene Jurist und Pionier der umweltbewussten Unternehmensführung Dr. Georg Winter (Deutscher Umweltpreis 1995) ist längst auch ein bekannter Lyrik-Autor und Sprechkünstler.
