The book begins with the discussion of the present scenario of application and advancement of polymer adhesive, and major parameters on which the mechanical properties of adhesive depends. Effect of thickness of the adhesive layer and surface roughness on lap shear strength of joints under tensile and compressive loading are discussed. The dispersion of alumina nanoparticles (Spherical and rod-shaped) in epoxy is introduced. Quasi-static lap shear strength and fracture toughness of nanocomposite adhesives are discussed in detail. The book describes the dynamic lap shear strength of nanocomposite adhesives using SHPB and finite element modeling of lap shear strength of nanocomposite adhesives.
