Saint personnage du Gujarat, Rajacandra (1867-1901) eut une influence décisive sur le Mahatma Gandhi qui écrit dans son journal : « J'ai rencontré plus d'un chef religieux, plus d'un maître en religion et je dois dire que personne ne m'a fait aussi forte impression que Rajacandra. » Il lui inspira les valeurs de non-violence et de force d'âme. Il livre ici l'essence de sa pensée.
