About the author

Maura Kelly is associate professor of sociology at Portland State University. Her research and research interests include gender, sexuality, and work. Her research has been published in a variety of sociology and interdisciplinary journals, such as Gender & Society, Sociological Forum, and Journal of GLBT Family Studies.Barbara Gurr is associate professor in the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program at the University of Connecticut. Her publications include Reproductive Justice: The Politics of Healthcare for Native American Women (Rutgers University Press, 2015) and Race, Gender and Sexuality in Post-Apocalyptic TV and Film (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015), of which she is the editor.
