Joseph B. Gill, President of the Sen ate and Lieutenant Governor, served two terms in the house in '89 and '91 and was nominated on the first ballot in.april, '92, for lieutenant governor by the democratic state convention. He was born on a farm near Marion, Williamson county, Feb. 17, 1862, and is the youngest lieutenant governor ever elected in this state. In '63 his family moved to De Soto, Jackson county, and in '68 to Murphysboro.
