About the author

Alfred Polgar wurde 1873 in Wien geboren und lebte ab 1925 überwiegend in Berlin, von wo er 1933 nach Prag und Wien, 1938 nach Paris und 1940 nach Hollywood flüchten musste. Er starb 1955 in Zürich.
