Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of the Environmental Law Foundation, and was also specialist adviser to the European Commission, the UNEP Global Judges Programme in Nairobi; and the Environmental Audit Committee's 2004-5 Inquiry: Environmental Crime. He lectures part-time at the University of Hertfordshire, specializing in environmental and planning law. He is co-author of People Power (Lawpack, 2008), Civil Law Aspects of Environmental Justice (Defray ELF, 2003), and Environmental Action: A Guide for Individuals and Communities (ELF, 2008).
