About the author
Dr Andrew Lambirth is a Principal Lecturer in Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. He taught in primary schools in Peckham and Bermondsey before moving to higher education in 1996. Since then he has published widely in the field of primary English with special interests in children's literature, poetry, the teaching of writing, popular culture and the politics of literacy. Judith Roden has over 30 years experience of teaching science at all levels and is currently a principal lecturer and cross-phase science team leader at Canterbury Christ Church University. She has had several articles published and is co author of 'Teaching Science in the Primary Classroom: a practical guide' (Paul Chapman, 2005).
