    So einfach ist dieser Film, fast schon zu einfach für Bergman - und so unendlich komplex. Falls es den idealen Einstieg ins Oeuvre des schwedischen Meisterregisseurs gibt, dann ist es dieser Film: weniger verschlossen als berühmtere Werke wie "Das Schweigen" oder "Das siebente Siegel", aber auch noch für den Fan und Kenner bedeutend, fesselnd, überraschend.

    Ein unglaublicher Film ueber identitaet und rollen. Liv Ullman spielt eine schauspielerin die alles in ihrem leben als eine rolle betrachtet hat. nun ist sie im irrenhaus ohne eine persoenlichkeit. Ihre pflegerin schwester alma wird zu ihrem studien objekt und allmaehlich werden beide zu einer person und doch sind sie verschieden. Persona ist vollendetes Kino mit einer ungeheuer wuchtigen eroeffnungssequenz und genialen, unter die haut gehenden bildkompositionen. Ingmar bergman at his best!
