DEXTER GORDON
Ein absolutes MUSS für alle Jazz-Fans, jedoch durchaus auch äusserst sehenswert für Nicht-Fans, nur schon wegen den schauspielerischen Leistungen der Akteure und der besonderen Atmosphäre dieses Films. Ein wahrer Genuss, DEXTER GORDON als Schauspieler zuzuschauen und als Tenorsaxophonist zuzuhören. Er spielt die Hauptfigur als Jazzmusiker und die Story ist ein Portrait aus einer Mischung von BUD POWELL,LESTER YOUNG und eben DEXTER GORDON. Es gibt viel Musik, die hauptsächlich im Blue-Note-Club in Paris aufgenommen wurde. Als Musik-Direktor amtete niemand geringerer als HERBIE HANCOCK. Dieser Film zeigt auf eindrückliche Weise eine Seite der Jazz-Szene, die unter die Haut geht. Für mich einer der besten Musik-Filme, die ich kenne.
