Terence Lovat is an Emeritus Professor of Theology and Education at the University of Newcastle, Australia. He began his academic career at Australian Catholic University. He is also a Research Fellow at Oxford University, UK, an Honorary Professor at Glasgow University, UK, and an Adjunct Professor at Royal Roads University, Canada. His specialty in Theology is Islamic Philosophy and History, and his specialty in education is religious and moral education and Islamic education. He has contributed and guided millions of dollars of funded research and authored multiple books, chapters, and refereed journal articles across both fields. He has authored and/or edited 29 academic books (including with Springer, Routledge, Peter Lang, Nelson, Sense, Waxmann, etc.) and has over 200 refereed book chapters and journal articles. He has also served as editor-in-chief of two international journals, including an Elsevier journal with over 2000 submissions yearly. He is also on multiple editorialand international advisory boards, having reviewed hundreds of articles and special issue and book proposals. He received a Springer Star Peer Reviewer award in 2017.
