Fashion, understood as a social phenomenon that enables both individual and collective expressions, and the use of the term 'tabloid fashion' as a concept that brings together a set of practices, opinions, individual and collective tastes that inform about social groups, territorialities and eras, characterising fashion as a communicational matrix that re-produces and enables the understanding of social facts. In addition to integrating and socialising individuals and groups, the practices of adopting clothing in line with fashion trends have elements that can be understood as factors of social insertion and displacement. On this basis, fashion designers, who need to be in constant dialogue with society, play an important role, as they provide the conditions for individuals to exercise their appearance strategies in the contemporary social game.
