Colleges bilk students with high fees in tuition, housing, and food. With classes topping $100 per hour, and when missing income, interest on loans, and other costs are factored in, the total cost averages $85,000. Debt is the leading cause of dropping out.
Only 33 percent of full-time students graduate within four years, and only about half (54 percent) graduate within six years. About 33 percent drop out without finishing their degrees.
