If the Southwest is known for its distinctive regional culture, it is not only the indigenous influences that make it so. Keith L. Bryant Jr., a professor emeritus of history at the University of Akron, USA, has published in Southwest history for over thirty years. His studies have included regional architecture, art, and cultural institutions. He also authored a biography of the American Impressionist painter William Merritt Chase.
