With its drummers the Swiss Army Central Band convinces its audience with superior presentations and professional shows. As hallmark the Swiss Army Central Band makes its appearances at music festivals and tattoos both in Switzerland and abroad But it also cultivates an attractive concert programme and makes CD recordings. Major Aldo Werlen is the musical director of the formation. Leader of the drummer ensemble is Staff Adjutant Philipp Rütsche, drum major und choreographer of the musical show.
The orchestra appears in red gala uniform and has already inspired million-strong audiences at major music festivals in Russia, Germany, Italy, Austria, Great Britain, Scandinavia and Canada. In 2010, the Swiss Army Central Band participated in Oslo in the «Norwegian Military Tattoo» and in 2011 at the
«Basel Tattoo». In 2009, a tour followed with concerts of the «Swiss Band» in Bern, Lucerne and Zurich as well as participation in the international «Spasskaya Tower» music festival in Moscow. The «March Music Gala» and an appearance at the «Avenches Tattoo» were on the band’s programme in 2014
