Prof. Dr. Carsten Berkau lehrt seit 1996 Controlling und Rechnungswesen an der Fachhochschule Osnabrück. Er hält zudem Accounting-Vorlesungen an ausländischen Hochschulen in Shanghai (China), Port Elizabeth und Grahamstown (Südafrika) sowie Seol (Südkorea).
