Un nez, une épée, un chapeau panaché ;
une rôtisserie, un balcon, un champ de
bataille ; Ragueneau, Christian, Roxane : à tous
ces éléments, vous aurez reconnu Cyrano, le
chevalier poète, l'escrimeur amoureux, le soldat
rimeur ! Il aime d'un amour éperdu Roxane
qui n'a d'yeux que pour le beau Christian. Sa
grandeur d'âme le conduit à favoriser ce lien,
même s'il doit en souffrir. Retrouvez le Gascon

L'accompagnement pédagogique situe Cyrano dans l'histoire
du genre théâtral, héritier du drame romantique et
modèle du «caractéristique». Rarement personnage de
théâtre aura autant marqué la scène : c'est la raison pour
laquelle Cyrano fait l'objet d'une étude détaillée. Plusieurs
lectures analytiques précédées d'un travail préparatoire
pourront être menées en classe. Un groupement
de textes sur l'histoire de ce héros et sur la gloire qu'il a
apportée à son créateur complète le commentaire.
