On croit rêver. Le loup parle, la princesse dort une éternité et les fées font le bonheur des demoiselles, du bout de leur baguette. Ces événements fabuleux ont lieu à une époque indéterminée, dans des contrées inconnues des cartes. Et tout cela trace les contours merveilleux des contes que l'on imaginerait lire... les yeux fermés, déjà happé dans l'univers incertain du sommeil. Parfois inquiétantes, parfois amusantes, les histoires racontées par Charles Perrault ont traversé les siècles sans dommage. D'ailleurs, Cendrillon, vous connaissez ?
L'accompagnement pédagogique restitue l'œuvre de Perrault dans son contexte culturel, sans négliger la lecture «adulte» du recueil. Les enjeux littéraires sont mis en évidence : le conte comme genre, le merveilleux, par exemple. La place des femmes fait l'objet d'un développement particulier. La postérité des contes donne lieu à un groupement de textes ludiques.
