Concettualizzando le «memorie religiose postcoloniali» in modo ampio e interdisciplinare, la costruzione, l'uso pubblico, la contestazione e la trasformazione della memoria relativa all'intreccio tra religione e imperialismo europeo, colonialismo e decolonizzazione da parte di diversi agenti nella sfera religiosa nel passato e nel presente è messa a fuoco da autori d Italia, dei Paesi Bassi, di Belgio, Germania e Svizzera.
Le dossier, également international, se concentre sur les Églises, les acteurs non étatiques et les ONG qui, dans le cadre du processus d'Helsinki, font campagne pour les droits de l'homme et la liberté religieuse derrière le rideau de fer, par des initiatives missionnaires ou en lançant des débats politiques dans la sphère publique de leurs pays respectifs. Les contributions se concentrent sur ces acteurs dans trois États neutres, la Suisse, la Suède et la Finlande.
