Distance education has shown itself to be a tool for access to education, because by making use of technological means, as well as breaking down geographical barriers, it allows students to better manage their time for study. However, because it is an educational category relegated in the past to the lower classes of society, there is a preconceived idea that this type of education is not concerned with quality or professional training. Based on the research carried out, it was possible to see that students who choose this form of teaching and learning are not part of society's excluded classes for various reasons, including the fact that higher education is already an elitist level and those who manage to reach it cannot be considered excluded.
