The Minor League Milwaukee Brewers, 1859-1952

Baseball arrived in Milwaukee in 1859. Through Rufus King's efforts, the game got off to a strong start and the city became one of the most important cities for minor league baseball. This work chronicles Milwaukee's baseball history from the game's first appearance in the city in 1859 to the American Association's last season in 1952 and the arrival of the major league Braves.
