About the author
Philip Barnard is Professor Emeritus in the Department of English at the University of Kansas. He has published editions of the four canonical romances of Charles Brockden Brown and is currently Textual Editor of the Brown electronic archive and Bucknell Collected Writings of Charles Brockden Brown edition.
Hilary Emmett is Senior Lecturer in American Studies (Literature and Culture) in the Department of American Studies at the University of East Anglia.
Stephen Shapiro is Professor in the Department of English & Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick. A member of the Warwick Research Collective (WReC), he has published more than 15 books and editions.
