Mucorales fungal infections are aggressive and rapidly progressive. They are characterized by their angioinvasive component with extensive necrosis. This type of infection predominates in immunosuppressed patients and presents a high mortality, the diagnosis begins with the diagnostic suspicion and then with a thorough clinical review and complementary studies. Imaging studies are essential to delimit the extension of the lesion. The initiation of antifungal treatment together with early surgical treatment is indispensable because it improves the prognosis of these patients. Sampling is necessary for microbiological and histopathological study for an accurate diagnosis. The timely diagnosis and treatment in this type of infections is the cornerstone because this improves the prognosis of patients.
