The civil rights movement of the Hispanic people on America originally began as an agricultural movement, and rapidly developed into a flourishing cultural and political movement. The various branches of literature - prose, theatre and poetry - soon found their way to the Anglo audience, building bridges over prejudices, stereotypes and clichés, enriching American culture and popular culture with new elements that are now regarded as organic and important parts of North Amrican civilization.

About the author

Tamas Vrauko works at the Department of English,  University of Miskolc, North-Eastern Hungary. Vrauko earned his PhD at the University of Warsaw. The author's main research areas are British and American studies and translation studies.
