As a culture-shaping religion and the basis for values and norms, the Christian church in Germany in particular has had a high level of relevance within society up to now. Because of this relevance and their status as a public corporation, the churches in Germany enjoy a special legal position within the media system, especially for public broadcasting. But as society continues to modernize, the religious landscape has also changed. These changes pose new challenges for institutionalized Christian religion, so that as an important component of society, it must adapt to the changed framework conditions. With the help of explorative expert interviews with executives from the "Religion" editorial department of RBB, this work attempts to answer the question of how present the Christian church is on public television and whether an increase or decrease in the importance of the Christian church can be observed in society and the media.
