Progressive America grew out of my book Lincoln Lives! Lincoln Lives ends with the rise of progressivism in the United States in 1920. It peeked my curiosity of just what kind of America the progressives would have created if their movement had not been aborted and co-oped by the socialists and communists in the 1930s. In Progressive America, I hypothesis on the type of society the progressives would have created, and not what I hoped they would have created. You might find that the progressives were very different from the so-called progressive movement of today. In 1930s the Progressive Party was captured by socialists/communists and ever since the word "progressive" has been used as a false face for every leftist movement from liberalism to socialism. You will be surprised to discover that people and movements that are today associated with either the extreme right or the extreme left were all part of the progressive movement of 1880 to 1930.
