About the author

Author Jocelyn Mooneyhan Lacey was inspired to write this story after her participation in the Citizen's Police Academy offered by the Johnson City Police Department in her hometown of Johnson City, Tennessee. In addition to working at a police department in North Carolina, she also worked with law enforcement while employed at a domestic violence shelter and children's advocacy center. She lives in Kennebunkport, Maine with her husband, two dogs, a cat, and two fish.
