About the author

Katherine Krefft, M.Ed., Ph.D. began her study of emotions as a classroom teacher. In four decades as a clinical psychologist she subsequently evolved a positive view of our most challenging emotions of anger, fear, grief, and guilt. Sharing those understandings with counselors, teachers, and administrators, she offers systematized instruction for adolescents designed to develop emotional resiliency and widespread emotional literacy. She continues to embrace the education that private practice as a psychologist affords.

Summary

This text presents a methodical, organized approach to counseling students in emotional intelligence (EI) by detailing how to understand and direct emotions, while also keying counselors directly to the underlying emotional motivations behind the behaviors.
