The demographic and socio-economic profile of labourers (working in the city of Varanasi district, Uttar Pradesh, India) has been examined along with the quality of life and intergenerational mobility. We have tried to emphasize the hazardous nature of workplaces as described above by means of workplace inspections, safety and hygiene, food-behavior, substance use etc. We have shown interest also to measure the quality of life of labourers with their perception of risk at working place and environment.

Dr. Dharma Raj was awarded the Ph.D. (Statistics) degree from Institute of Science, Department of Statistics, B.H.U. Varanasi in 2018. He cultivated his love of traveling and adventure. He had awarded CSIR-JRF (Mathematical Sciences), ICMR-JRF (Social Sciences) & UGC-JRF (Population Studies) as the area of interest is Demography and Public Health.
