Notre rôle à nous est de nous occuper de l'artiste Nous avons vu qu'il était né à Chartres, d'une famille noble dont plusieurs représentants témoignèrent des tendances assez marquées pour l'art musical. Son oncle maternel, M. De Montainville, avait un talent remar quable comme violoniste et était élève de Baillot. Son père, le marquis de Castillon, aimait également la musique et chantait assez agréablement1.
