This book discusses comprehensively major aspects of social media and it's impacts on civic society in India. Most of similar books cover limited aspects of social media and its impact; here an effort has been made to include wide range of topics such as theories, types and functions. When writing this book, we tried to use all good knowledge on the subject. The ideas of lelso ading scholars and researchers who have been active in a number of academic fields have been incorporated so as to enrich the content of the book. The authors propose to bring out shortly a companion volume covering these aspects. The authors also plan to bring out revised edition of the book every alternate year so as to equip the students with the latest information in this area of study. We propose to incorporate suggestions from all sections of readership for the improvement of the book and remove deficiencies, if any, in the coming editions.
