Title IX in Institutions of Higher Education - A study in the role of law in the fight against sexual assault

Sexual violence is a solemn issue relating to public health and human rights problem with both acute and chronic consequences on the survivor's physical, mental, and sexual health. Whether sexual violence occurs in the context of an intimate partnership, within the larger family or community structure, or during times of conflict, it is a deeply violating and painful experience for the survivor. It is mostly women who become the victim of such aggression by the perpetrators, and it is mostly women who become the sufferer of the prejudice of the society; but who should we blame? Who is the actual perpetrator? Who needs to take the responsibility?

About the author

Sorath Dahri is a South Asian woman from Pakistan. She completed her Honors Baccalaureate of Science, Finance in 2016 from the Oregon State University, United States. Dahri has been an all rounder throughout her college career. She participated in various different international students' groups and other leadership clubs.
