The fourth volume in a Series of publications on the Wemhöner Collection spans the period from the 1940s to the present day. Whether the works bear the hallmarks of Minimalism, Abstraction, informal or figurative painting, or the Italian Transavanguardia, and whether their creators are the greats of art history, regionally known artists or representatives of the current international art scene, collector Heiner Wemhöner associates each work with encounters and conversations that often stretch quite some way back in time. His collection, parts of which are often displayed in exhibitions, now also includes drawings, photographs, films, sculptures and installations. Yet this has in no way changed his fascination with painting - with the authenticity of the brushstroke, the sweep of the blade or the moirés of acid.
