Impact of Saving and Credit Cooperatives

Saving and credit cooperative societies have been developed to meet the fundamental human need to find a way of saving and borrowing methods without taking risks and without handing over too much power to a money lender.More than half of the world population are women.However, women are not treated equally with men on economic activities participation.The gap between men and women on participation of economic activities are filled by saving and credit cooperatives by providing saving and credit services for both men and women

About the author

The author was born in 1985 in Oromiya Regional State,Ethiopia. He undergraduate from Mekelle University with BA Degree in Cooperatives Business Management in July, 2007.Soon after his graduation, he was employed by the Ministry of Agriculture.Finally, author graduated from Mekelle University in (MA)Cooperative marketing in 2013.
