The standards ISO 14001:2004 and SA 8000:2008, recognized worldwide, are a international consensus on the state of the art in technology or in the good management practices. Both ISO 14001 and SA8000 are presented in a general way to allow your application actually different but at the same time, can not be separated from a certain sternness as this that aim to protect - the environment and people - can not be subject of bargaining. However, there are other ways beyond standardization with which you can create a policy of stability, it can not be ignored by certain requirements to ensure that this is efficient and effective. An example of an alternative to the aforementioned methods we find in the multinational IKEA has decided to achieve the same goals by adopting ISO 14001 and SA8000, however, a system that fully supports the specific needs of the company. The purpose of this work is precisely to find a point of contact between the ISO 14001, SA8000 and the alternative adopted dall'IKEA.
