The present treatise provides a comprehensive analysis of Small Scale Industrial Sector of J&K. The development of small scale industries alone is not sufficient to free the state from age-old stagnation and economic backwardness. The Book is outcome of M.Phil research work carried in the Department of Economic, University of Kashmir. The Book is based on mainly primary data while as the secondary data has been used for the present study. The book, I hope, will make a valuable addition to the existing body of literature on industrial development of India particularly State of Jammu and Kashmir. The book is primarily meant for students pursuing post graduate course in Economics, Research in the subject and allied courses. Equally planners, policy makers and administrators will find it a good addition to their collection on Jammu and Kashmir. I do realize that a treatise aimed at different levels of target groups may not do equal justice to all, nevertheless an attempt to reach out to all the stakeholders has been made.
