About the author
Dr. Kecia Ashley is a business owner, an academic scholar, and a published author who empowers and mentors young men and women throughout the country. As the latest in a long line of educators, Dr. Ashley has been in the field of education for over 20 years as a grade-school teacher, school administrator, district-level administrator, consultant, and college professor. She is originally from Mississippi, but she currently resides in Alabama.
Dr. Ashley is the founder of Kecia Ashley Enterprises; Pro- fessional Leadership Academy; My Purpose Academy; and The ASPIRE Group, which is a non-profit organization. She also serves her community by volunteering in her spare time and shar- ing a message of hope through her focus on physical and emo- tional health. Her passion for empowering women and men to experience success professionally, spiritually, physically, socially, and financially keeps her active and fulfilled on a daily basis.
Currently, she is developing programs to empower women and to inspire people everywhere to follow their dreams of entrepreneurship, furthering their education, and overcoming obstacles in order to fulfill their purpose in life. Dr. Ashley has received various accolades throughout the years for her contributions to education.
Additionally, she was recognized as a nominee for Entrepre- neur of the Year at the 2014 Alabama Black Achievers Gala sponsored by State Representative Oliver Robinson and Regions Bank, and she received the Life Unlimited Crystal Award for 2015 from Zija International. Dr. Ashley was also featured as one of the Phenomenal Faces of Greatness for the Flora Pearl Foundation in 2015.
A philanthropist at heart, Dr. Ashley enjoys helping other people excel by encouraging them to operate in the spirit of excellence and integrity. As the Bible says, God is no respecter of persons, and Dr. Ashley believes that every person with a dream, a plan, and a support system can excel. It's God's desire for His people to prosper, and her goal is to help as many people as possible to realize their potential and accomplish their goals.
