The goat (Capra hircus) is known as the poor man's cow. The goat is an animal that adopts itself readily to almost any climate. It is hardy, prolific breeder and can be cheaply reared. The goat eats a class of fodder on which other animals would starve and for that reason, goat rearing is followed as an occupation by a large section of small holders and landless labourers in rural areas. A goat provides a dependable source of income to 40 percent of the rural population below the poverty line in India and two many who do not possess any land. This book describes about the helminthic population and their effect on the hematological, biochemical and histopathology of goat population of Anand district of Gujurat in India.

About the author










The author has completed his M.V.Sc in Veterinary Parasitology from Anand Agricultural University, Gujarat, India in the year 2012. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology, Arawali Veterinary College, Sikar, Rajasthan.
