About the author
Dr. Thomas H. Troeger is the Lantz Professor Emeritus at Yale Divinity School and Institute of Sacred Music. A graduate of Yale University and Colgate Rochester Divinity School, Dr. Troeger is ordained in the United Presbyterian Church. He is author of more than twenty books in the fields of preaching, poetry, hymnody, and worship and a frequent contributor to journals dedicated to these topics. He is also a professional flautist and a poet, whose work appears in the
hymnals of most denominations. In 2019 he was named a Fellow of The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada.
