One of the most important problems affecting almost all countries is Global Warming. We are aware that sustainable forest management is the only option for survival of mankind. It is evident that most of the tribal live in and around forests and are economically, emotionally linked to forests. The historical evidence reveals that they associate themselves with forests, which provide them all their day-to-day requirements. In addition, the influence of forests is reflected on every aspect of tribal culture. Hence, any intervention proposed in tribal dominated forest areas needs special attention to their socio economic and cultural interests. While focusing on the living conditions of tribes, this book has also emphasized on the importance of their basic needs, cultural practices, education, health, environmental conditions and their association with forests, role of government and NGOs to entitle their Rights. This book is certainly a good reference to those of undergraduates, post graduates, researcher scholars, academicians, philanthropists and professionals working for tribal, rural development and other socio economic projects.
