Dependency and Structure Modelling (DSM) techniques support the management of complexity by focusing attention on the elements of a complex system and how they are related to each other. The DSM perspective can assist in understanding, designing and optimising complex systems - including products, processes and organisations.
This volume comprises peer-reviewed papers representing state-of-the-art in DSM research and applications. The papers were presented at the 15th International DSM Conference held in August 2013 in Melbourne, Australia.
About the author
Dr.-Ing. Maik Maurer graduated in mechanical engineering at the Technische Universität München. In 2007 he became Ph.D. at the Technische Universität München.
Herr Prof. Dr.-Ing. Udo Lindemann hat nach seiner Promotion viele Jahre in der Industrie gearbeitet. Seit 1995 ist er für den Lehrstuhl für Produktentwicklung der TU München verantwortlich. Lehre und Forschung konzentrieren sich auf die Entwicklung von Strategien für die frühen Entwicklungsphasen, Vorgehensweisen zur Produktinnovation, Fragen des Kostenmanagements und des Rechnereinsatzes in der Produktentwicklung sowie die Berücksichtigung psychologischer und soziologischer Erkenntnisse.
