  Machen wir uns nichts vor: Die grossen Balladen wie früher fehlen hier ein wenig, die Stimme mag auch gelitten haben, aber gerade "I won't allow it" ist ungewöhnlich funky und macht Hunger auf mehr. Mariah ist wieder da wo sie hingehört. In unsere Plattenschränke!

• Retrostyle mit Soul Funk Gospel und Balladen

  Mit diesem Album versucht Mariah nicht einen Hit zu landen und auf forever young zu machen wie JLO, Madonna usw.Sie muss niemandem mehr was beweisen! Sie macht ihr Ding.Es ist ein Album für sich selbst und ihre die hard Fans. Ein eher ruhiges,spirituelles und reifes Album. Die Uptempo Songs wie Confetti and champagne und I won't allow it fehlt es leider etwas an Würze und Melodie. Aber nicht zu vergleichen mit dem Album Emancipation , E MC2, oder Caution.

  With this artwork, Mariah is back to what she does best: conveying emotions without too much overprodution or guests. She delivers her feelings straightforward in songs that reminds the soul, the vibe and the melodies of her most acclaimed early works (Daydream, Butterfly). Sure, her current vocals are not comparable to what she used to have in the 90ies, nevertheless her more mature voice allows you to connect better with the meaning of the lyrics. This is definitely a timelss solid body!
