Excerpt from The Seventh Christmas
Though she had remembered that it was Jesus' birthday, she was ashamed to own it, for she had no present for him and scarcely any food in the house. So, when the one child in Nazareth, the only child in all the world who knew that it was Christ mas, had awakened that morning, it had seemed to him that the world did not care. At first he was disap pointed; but when he saw the trouble in his mother's eyes, he sang to make her glad.
